    Quick PS3 question..

Anyone know if you can run HDMI out and component video/analog audio out of the PS3 at the same time?

I've got a customer wanting to replace his original Sony Blu-ray with a PS3, but it's being used for the whole-house system as well.

Right now it's HDMI out to the theater in 1080p with digital audio and component video in 1080i and analog audio out the the Autopatch matrix switchers.

I think it would still be ok if the PS3 was limited to outputting 1080i, but it would have to output component and HDMI simultaneously; and digital audio (either over HDMI or optical) and analog audio simultaneously.

    Anyone know if its possible?

You can have them both hooked up at the same time, but it will not display them at the same time.

There's a display setting in the system portion that you have to choose one or the other, there's no option for both.

I also just checked and hooked the component up (from my old PS2) and it will indeed not display both at the same time.
    Digital Audio makes me Happy.

Kevin: yeah, I'm in the same boat with wanting to distribute BD (and other PS3 products) to my all-home system, but the PS3 won't do different video outputs.

You can buy a component video cable for it. (that's the multi in multi-AV).

              PS3 + RSP-1570 and Master audio?
              by Tomahawk
              Hi.

I have connected my PS3 with HDMI to my Rotel RSP-1570.
The PS3 sound settings are set (Settings->Sound setting->Audio Output Settings ->HDMI-Automatic->Setting List, and all options are ticked off).

When playing a Blu-ray movie with DTS-HD Master...

Hi to all. Thanks to the help of hifiguy and KevinD my RSP-1069 is working perfectly and now I can focus myself on settings and performance.
The first thing I noticed when I started listening to movies were the high frequencies, much more present and detailed if compared to my previous RSP-1066....

Problem with High End HDMI Cables
              by urlawyer
Just read an article in a high end rag which talks about a problem with expensive HDMI cables. Seems that very expensive HDMI cables are very stiff and heavy, so they can damage the HDMI component chassis connectors. The cable industry is aware of the problem and they are working on a solution but...

              Can I use a HDMI AV as a pre-amp to the 1098?
              by Poki
There is no HDMI to 7-channel analog audio "breakout" box.

I don't want to "junk" my 1098 but I need a HDMI Pre-Amp so will this configuration work?

              PS3 -> AV HDMI (say a Denon or Onkyo) In -> 7-channel Pre-out -> 1098 7-channel audio in (currently...
