    New Toy! MX3000

Here is a shot of a birthday gift that my wife got for me :T , this thing is awsome. It is taking awhile to setup, but is alot of fun. I am currently working on a new DVD profile programthat I purchased that controls my DVD changer with a on screen library of the DVD covers. I cant wait to get it all setup.

Does it play any video games? IT sort of looks like a standalone gaming unit. Pretty cool.

No, no games, for now,but I have seen one guy come up with a tic-tac-toe game that works on it. Not too exciting.

So far so good, I have been working on setting everything up the last few nights, It is fairly easy to setup. Right now I am working on setting up my DVD changer with a new program from Triple B software, it uses the DVD profiler program and allows you to put the DVD covers in a library on the remote. After it is all setup I will be able to pick a movie, tap on the cover icon and the movie will start. My changer holds 400 DVD's, so its going to take awhile to setup. I will post pics when its done of some of the screen shots.

Hi, First post here, but I have learned alot reading. I'm in the process of putting a little system together. So far it looks like B&W 705 mains, B&W DCS6 surrounds, B&W subwoofer, Rotel RSX 1056 Receiver some sort of DVD player and a Pioneer 4360 Plasma. The place I'm working with is trying to talk me out of setting this system up myself. Namely programming the MX3000 Universal Remote.

I like the idea of pushing TV, or DVD and all the approriate components turning on in the proper sequence. I can save a bundle by buying these components and doing the setup and programming myself. Do you think I will be getting in over my head.

              Thanks

              John

Hello John, it depends on how much time you have to spend and how good you are with a PC. I have had mine for a couple of months now and still do not have it setup. The time is the issue for me. You should write down all of your equipment and commands that you want to do first, then you can jumble them around and get a plan of attack before you start programing the remote. Once you do that its fairly simple. I hope I dont get in trouble here but over at Remotecentral.com there are a slew of people who specialize in these remotes, along with graphics and .RCC files. Good luck!

I looking for a remote that can control my HT/stereo system, Media center computer and the X10 lighting controls I'm using. Currently I use (believe it or not) ten different remotes! There has to be a better way.
I have been reading reviews of the MX3000 and it seems that it would meet my needs...

Perhaps I have had too much wine over the Xmas holidays because I cannot find the DTS track on the Toy Story 10th anniversary edition DVD (region 2). It states on both boxes (Toy Story 1 and 2) that a DTS track is available but I cannot find it. Can anyone please advise? Many thanks in anticipation...
