How high up on a wall should I throw my projection? Is there a formula?

I have seen many different installations, some with the screen high, some low, but I did read somewhere that the best position, when seated is with the eye level at mid screen. That's about where my screen is positioned and seems to work well. Maybe Jon or Dean have some more accurate information on this and will chime in.

From what I recall the bottom 1/3 of the screen should be at eye level when seated.

Can depend on your seating style too. My setup is very decidedly "slouch on the couch", so my higher-than-almost-everyone setup with screen bottom at 46" and screen top at 100" works fine. Nary a complaint. But it would work poorly if I were sitting upright in normal theater seating.
