    My New CRT Projector Website

    Hi All,

I have just found your forum and it looks great

I have created a CRT Projector info website that some of you may be interested in.

If anyone has any comments or ideas I would appreciate them.

    Thanks.

Hi Brenton! Welcome to HTGuide. That's some very nice, professional work on your site - my compliments. Personally, I'm RPTV-based but there are a good number of members here that are FP-based.

Stop by the "At The Movie" section some time.

I use both crt and lcd FPs in my HT. My crt is a 10 year old Zenith that I use for 4:3 viewing and the lcd is a Sony VPL400 widescreen lprojector. The Zenith was my first foray into front projection. I installed it myself so there was a trial and error period. Fortunately I was able to get my hands on an installation manual. I still like the crt picture compared to digital, but the gap is narrowing.
Welcome to HT Guide. The site in your thread is an interesting one and would be very useful for anyone picking up an NEC, Barco, et al. BTW, I got a blank page when clicking on YOUR OWN site at the bottom.
Hope you will post often here or at any of the other departments at HT Guide.
      George

Brenton, welcome to HTGuide. Your site looks nice, I just took a quick gander at it. Although there's been a lot of talk of digital PJs around here with the new lower-priced units that are coming out, I still prefer good old CRT. They're more work to set up and maintain but the picture quality is worth it, and besides, they're fun!

The CRTs I have the most experience with are Zenith--the Pro895X and Pro851X I've done hands-on with, those aren't on your site.

                  Nice site Brenton!

                  Welcome to HTGuide!

I've owned both CRT and Digital FPTV's, presently limping along with a 29" presentation monitor till I get the scratch to do something new.

I'm an HTPC fan from way back, ThomasW has a rig I put together that even works with a Sony VPL-W400Q, using an Exetron sync combiner.

My latest HTPC for the bedroom uses the CoolerMaster case on your opening page, with a nForce micro ATX board.

I got into HTPC's back when they were the only way to go progressive scan with DVD, which kind of dates me, I guess.

Thanks for posting and for putting up such a nice site.

                  Regards,

                  Jon

                    Hi Jon,

I also use a HTPC to run the 1292. I have a Radeon 7200 video card and run 1920x1080p resolution with powerstrip.

The next thing I am going to do is setup the HTPC section on my site to have a diy HTPC section.

The coolermaster is a nice case but too expensive in Australia when you do the currency conversion
