sick and tired of direct tv

there recievers are crap
first one has audio cutting out and artifacts along the borders
and didnt pick up any off air channels

the replacement one is an inch taller and 2 inches deeper so now it doesnt fit
does it work- yes until it prompted to do the software upgrade then back to glitchyness :roll:

i called to get the same sized reciever and was told no due to there inability to control that although the two have different model numbers

ive been advised to use the "yellow white and red" cables and get a new reciever

anyone else have problems with direct tv

I would say buy your own receiver so you know what your getting .

i was thinking keep having new ones sent to me overnight air till they get it right

Well thats an option I suppose. Might take a long time as a lot of the stuff they send out is used or refurbished from their customers that cancle Just like any cable company. Of course yours may be something that is brand new.

I've just never seen one that came from direct tv that was all that great. Seen a few at the stores that are ok? I don't know I have cable and they use motorolla boxes for the HD stuff and I tell you they suck and have problems all the time. Just the other day my box froze up and would not switch channels and kept changeing the audio from 5.1 to 2 channel over and over again.

Both SA and Motorolla seem to be having a lot of problems... I had 2 problem Motorolla boxes before I got one that worked properly through my cable company too :roll:
