PHILIPS LCD TV 42PF9830/10 - Full HD ?!

Does anyone know if the new LCD from Philips model 42PF9830/10 is able to handle video modes 1920x1080p@60Hz and 1920x1080p@24Hz? (From what I can read both in the manual and specs is only able to support 1920x1080i/60Hz mode).

Does anyone tried to use this LCD TV with a Blu-ray or HD-DVD player in maximum resolution mode 1920x1080p@60Hz?

    Thx

As far as I can tell they're all native 1366 x 768p so it doesn't really matter... Otherwise trial and error would tell you if it works or not. I thought none of the first gen players were outputting past 1080i right now anyways? Or was that just HD-DVD?

      Jason,

The mentioned Philips was really a native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels but only accepts 1920x1080i signals. You are right, most HD-DVD and Blu-ray players are only sending 1920x1080i signals through HDMI.

As far I could understand all manufactures, especially Sony which support HDMI, have being waiting for the recently launched HDMI version 1.3. Following this major step it’s likely that new players will have for sure 1920x1080i/60 fps support, accordingly to following press release:

HDMI 1.3 doubles bandwidth delivers billions of colors for hdtvs

Ironically Playstation will be the first device fully conformant with HDMI:

“PLAYSTATION®3 will be the most advanced computer platform for enjoying a wide range of entertainment content, including the latest games and HD movies, in the home,” said Ken Kutaragi, president and group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment, Inc. “By introducing the next-generation HDMI 1.3 technology, with its high speed and deep color capabilities, PS3 will push the boundaries of audiovisual quality to the next level of more natural and smoother expression on the latest large flat panel displays.”

Sorry. One of the lines states:

"Visor LCD Full HD de 1920x1080p", which means LCD screen with 1920x1080. However, this is the only site from Philips with this model. All others have being updated and this model is not there anymore. Strange?!

                HDMI connected Multi-display environments

I'm not sure how many people run multiple display rooms, but I would gues quite a few run front projection/lcd plasma combinations.

I contemplated my own issues that have been compounded by the addition of a 4rth display. I own run a 46" LCD on my mantle, a 59" plasma up front,...

Here's the thing, my stepfather has a 40" LCD and Blu ray player, both samsung.

I just received (TODAY) this Onkyo HT-S3200 and I'll hook it there. But in some months I'll take it to my home where I have a 32" LCD and a hi-def dvd player with hdmi jack.

                But when...
