I will add Marantz and Runco to the list. And if you can find a Loewe Spheros somewhere, pick it up.

Depends on price. Fujitsu is the best but you pay for it. Panasonic and Pioneer are much more affordable.

If you want good performance for the money go with one of the "pro" Panasonic's (their consumer models are nowhere near as good). For quality above all else, Pioneer Elite, unless you want to get in to the REALLY pricey gear from Fujitsu/Runco etc.

I have a 42" plasma, bought it in 2002/2003, made by Philips. Put it in my bedroom to make for a really nice, clean bedroom setup without having to deal with a bunch of boxes and cabinets. Love it. Still doing well, too, although my wife ignores what I say and falls asleep with it on every single night and I have to come in and turn it off so it doesn't burn out.

Without doubt : put Pioneer's plamas at the top of your list.

Here in Europe, by far the best picture I have ever seen...

Futhermore, the use of a separate media-reciever is nothing but great offering incredible mounting possibilites.

I don't know the price of the Fujistu, but I know Pioneer's stuff isn't that cheap. But as a friend of mind always says : "What costs nothing is nothing worth"...

i just bought a Philips 42" plasma. I am a audiophile not a videophile but i cannot see a difference (except for price)from this philips to any other plasma i was looking at.

i would say start with samsung and panasonic

                      both look good on HD

then look at them on analog or SD and compair to the pioneer
then consider the other advantages the pioneer has

if its worth it to you go for it, if not stick with the panasonic / samsung

the toshiba has the advantage of a qam tuner if you dont feel like paying for HD service

                        Plasma and burn in
                        by HibbardSmith
I'm a new plasma owner (Samsung HPN-5039). I keep hearing and reading stuff about burn in. However, a lot of DVD movies and even HD Television is transmitted in aspect ratios well above 16 x 9 which results in dark bands at top and bottom (letterbox) or in 4 x 3 which results in dark bands at the sides...

                        Hello,

I am having unexpected problems. I connected a denon 3910 to a fujitsu plasma. I used hdmi from the 3910 to the fujitsu plasma and analog audio to the receiver (nad 773). The visuals do not show on the plasma. In the meantime I have used component connection (from 3910 to screen),...

I need to build some speakers for my HT. I have the less than ideal HT setup that is pictured below.

My plasma is against the wall on one side and there isn't really room for towers. What I want to do is build right left and center that replace the utter crap I have...
