Direct TV dish as HD OTA antenna?

    Hi,

I JUST got my 42" plasma flat panel HD tv (Magnavox 42FM230A), mounted on the wall, looks great with DVDs. According to Antennaweb.org I'm about 21 miles from my local HD stations transmitters. The previous owners of this house had a DirectTV dish and LEFT it mounted on my deck. Can I use that dish as an antenna to recieve the HD channels?? I'm somewhat leary of just plugging it into the new tv.

    Any thoughts? Thanks!!

No. You'll need to buy an antennae from radio shack, local dealer or online to fix you up. Antenna web will tell you what kind to buy.
