wierd coax PAL to NTSC question

someone has two tvs purchased in Europe that she states are compatible with ntsc format

her problem is is that she cannot screw in a coax as her coax inputs are not threaded

i suggested she just get a cable box and be done with it, she suggested i find her an adapter instead.... does one even exist? i have no familiarity with PAL coax and have found nothing on the web

I know you can get coax cables that just have a "sleeve" with no threading. Whether they're the same size or not though, I can't say....

Besides being not threaded, maybe do they have a small metal cylinder on the top and bottom (or the two sides)? Then it might be a BNC connector and adapters are available at most electronics supply places, even Radio Shack.

Crazy, I've never seen one of those before. Now if it ever comes up, I'll know.

              Thanks for letting us know.

Yes, as an American that has lived overseas in Europe, I can attest that you CAN buy adapters for American F-connector coax to PAL... uh... whatever they call it. Works great, I own a few myself.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

I am interested in obtaining some foreign films on DVD which will be in PAL. I would like to find a DVD player that converts PAL to NTSC so I can use it with my U.S. spec Mitsu RPTV. I know about the Oppos but they only do PAL to NTSC through DVI/HDMI. I have an older set that only supports component...

PAL / NTSC switching problems on 1098

I have encountered a problem when switching between sources on my RSP 1098. When I switch from watching an NTSC DVD (progressive scan component video input) to PAL video (S-video input), the component output from my 1098 is monochrome (black & white)!
I can 'reset' this by entering the menu...
