Any Epson TW800 or TW600 owners out there?

I have just taken delivery of a TW600 (rest of world version of US TW800) and was wondering if anybody else on the forum had one and could share experiences with this unit.As this is my first Pj can't comment on relative merits against other units and I am still waiting for the freebie screen to come from Epson(I will purchase a fixed screen when I move to a new house in the next 6 mths or so).
I now have to get my front room properly blacked out although this unit has an extremely bright lamp if need be .

It's still fairly new Brendon so it may be awhile before anyone here gets one. In the meantime, why not let us know what you think about yours.

this may assist brendon looks to be popular here down under.

would also suggest checking out the Sony HS-60 (are you guys getting it there) which here is priced only a couple of hundred dollars more than the Epson.

Hi Zorq I am on that thread already as brendonc.I have seen quite a few DBA members pop up on HT guide of late! :T
For those who are following the is the TW600 and the TW800 the same PJ debate an AVS memeber cornered an Epson Rep on a stand at CES and yes the are the same except for colour and items included in box (a mount and a spare bulb) and a three vs 2 year warranty. One of the few PJ's that are much cheaper in Australia than the US . RRP AUD $2990 vs $4500 USD with Aussie street price about $2500 AUD ($1 AUD equals approx .74 $ USD)
        Brendon

PS as this is my first Pj I am afraid I cant offer much in the way of comparison.

Brendon, we like to read about other projector owner's comments on their own particular make and model. I own a Yamaha LPX500 lcd projector that uses Epson lcd panels and it is a terrific projector that had almost perfect 6500K color temp out of the box.

            Hi George.
I saw that projector displayed whilst travelling on the east coast of Aust recently and was very impressed but the Yamaha pJ's are at a price point higher than most LCD's in theses parts I suspect.
In the past few weeks the local retailers have been pushing all their 480p and 570p DLPs very hard and of the 5 local stores I went to only one had a LCD PJ on display when previously 4 out 5 had.Two out of the four tried to tell me that a DLP that was either 480p or 575p was actually a 720p unit 8O .
I will post some impressions once I get a decent screen and upgrade my DVD player but will comment set up was straight forward for a newbie.

Yeah, Brendon, it's hard to get a deal on Yamahas because they are choosey about their dealers. The good thing is, the dealer stands firmly behind the product. And Yamahas are definitely well made, as are the Epsons from what I have read about them.
