"Ghost" on Samsung DLP screen

I have a Samsung HLN617W that is 2 years old. Over the last 9 months a "ghost" or white shadow has developed on the screen. We thought it was a reflection from outside for many months.

It is most noticable when the unit is off but can be seen when TV is on if you are looking for it.

Any ideas on what could cause this. Area takes up about 10% of the screen.

It could be a reflection from room lighting, or maybe dirt/dust on the screen, or on the inside of the screen. Could be cobwebs too, if a spider decided to take up residence in there.

Can you post a picture of it?

Have you done a google for that model or issue? Perhaps it's something other people have experienced? Otherwise it's kind of hard to guess what might be wrong.

I'm guessing it's out of warranty? Still, perhaps a quick email to Samsung could also shed some light on it?
