Has anyone heard when the xHD3 chip (1080) will be introduced by Samsung in their DLP? What the model series will be?

TI has the chip slated for 4/4 of this year so don't expect a set till after that.

Yup after the fourth quarter of this year (January as Shane mentioned
) at the earliest. On a good note the HD2+ chip should be available in Sammy set's within a month or so

i recently purchased a samsung hls5088w dlp tv. originally, i wanted the 56inch LED dlp but my wallet wouldnt really allow it. personally, i am very happy with the set but i am interested in hearing others experiences with samsung dlp's in general. anything besides a calibration that i need to worry... -
My buddy has narrowed down his choices of a 16:9 TV set to either a 50 inch Samsung DLP or a 50 inch Hitachi LCD rear Projection - both sets are about 22 inches in depth and after negotiation are both in the same $2,500 price point. I keep hearing stuff about the Toshiba CRT, but I live in the sticks and I have to drive an hour just to get to a circuit city to even look at one.
