Recommended Screen for a Sanyo PLV-Z3 projector

I am looking for the recomended screen for my Sanyo PLV-z3 projector.

The projecor is in a small dedicated room (12'x20'). The room will be dark most of the times.

I have not said no to an accoustically transparent screen but it may not be worth the money at this time.

Being a handy carpenter, would it be worth my while to purchase the material and make my own custom screen for installation?

    Thank you in advance.

I would suggest you try Carada screens www.carada.com - they make a beautiful screen - very easy to assemble and the prices are the best available today. Check out the frames they use - with other brands these are an option costing more $ - not so with Carada. David Giles is great to work with - you won't be disappointed.

I made a temporary screen for my Sanyo Z2 from a sheet of mdf painted off-white (1 drop of black dye in a litre of flat white). It's hung on a cleat (45 degree back-bevel on the wall and mdf sheet).

My temporary screen is now a year old. I have no plans to replace it as it looks fine.

Also check out Cousin's Video. They have both premade screens, or you can buy the fabric from them and make a frame for a fixed, tensioned screen (this what I did in the past) for a great price.

Carada Screen for my A/V setup

          Hi Guys and Gals,

After buying my NEC-9PG+ projector, I knew I needed an upgrade to my screen system. My screen started out as a wall hanging Oak frame with bright white formica over an HDF sheet; this was later modified to a roll around format on a stand, for flexibilty. This was necessary...

Just wanted to let everyone know I am selling my Carada Screen and the ad is in the Pawnshop. I have spoken directly to David Giles at Carada about this and he does not have a problem with me trying to sell it here or any other forum he is a sponsor on. I will be purchasing another screen from him once...

          Sanyo PLV-Z2 memory effect
          by amilder
          Hello all,
I've had a Z2 since March, it was working great up to about 2 months ago. It has developed a problem that has gradually gotten worse, to the point where I asked Sanyo for service.

The problem is this: whenever a high contrast image is on the screen for more than about...

          Sanyo PLV-Z2 - First Impressions

I had the opportunity to audition a Sanyo PLV-Z2 today at length and thought that I would share my impressions/opinions:

The viewing room was one of the dedicated HT rooms at the dealer's which had a 103" VuTec Vu-Easy screen. Viewing conditions in terms of ambient light were nearly...

          sanyo z2 screen size question
          by malcky
Hi folks, does anyone know what the smallest screen size the sanyo z2 can do 5m from the screen?

I can mount the pj anywhere from 3m-5m from the screen, however i would prefer to mount it 5m back as the pj would then be able to mounted onto a concrete wall rather than the ceiling (which...
