3:2 pulldown (which should be used, the Tv's or DVD player's ?)

I'm not sure if using the two together is the correct way of doing things. It seems like they would cancel each other or something. The input being used is the Hi-def component.

You should try both ways, but not at the same time. My TV upconverts to 1080i automatically, so my DVD progressive scan is set to off.

whichever is newer or better should be the one to go with.

junior77blue, Thanks for the guidence! I was using both at the same time. But wasn't satisfied with the results. I'll give your approach a shot.

That was the advice given to me on my hitachi from hitachi since I can't turn off the upconversion of the TV (everything is upconverted to 1080i). This way your feeding the television the 'raw' signal. Its hard to do an a/b comparison, the difference is subtle.

Well, I like the progressive signal produced by the dvd player (toshiba) vs. 3:2 off my RCA. I finally have the picture that I've been expecting.

Once again, thanks for the tip!
