Depending on the player you switch it to progressive mode either via a button on the remote, a menu setting, or a switch on the back of the player. Once it's set to progressive, it normally stays in progressive unless you switch it back.

If you're referring to 2:3 or 3:2 pulldown, most players handle this automatically, though you can usually override it in the menus.

1068: Problem switching between progressive inputs
      by McLovin
      G'day,

I am having an issue with my RSP-1068 and progressive scan inputs.

I have three video input devices hooked up to the 1068: a set-top box, a DVD player, and an Xbox (on V1, V2, and V3 inputs respectively). The 1068 is then connected to my TV (a Sony LCD). All inputs...

      Hello,

      Progressive Scan DVD Player
      by junior77blue
So, if my hitachi TV upcoverts all my signals into 1080i, what's the purpose of having a progressive scan DVD player?

Wouldn't it make more sense to 'feed' the TV with a raw signal as opposed to feeding it the progressive scan signal, and then having the TV upsample that once again....

RSP 1098 and progressive scan dvd/dvd audio players
      by Henk
The RSP 1098 TFT screen displays no video unless a usable signal is passed through the composite video connection. However, as pointed out in the RSP 1098 manual not all dvd players, set in progressive mode, output a usable composite video signal. This is true also for dvd players that play dvd audio....

Will a progressive scan DVD player be of benefit?
      by P-Dub
From what I know, if I don't have a TV capable of receiving a progressive scan signal, a progressive scan DVD player is a waste of money.

However, with the prices coming down, should it be a consideration? I'm thinking about the cost of the Tosh 3750, which I've seen for C$350 and the...
