lose routing every now and then ?

    Hi,

It seems that every now and then the routing to the htguide server is lost.
From my home I cannot access htguide via my provider
I have a testnetwork at my work, wich does work (different provider)

I am using it right now ( via remote desktop), because the routing seems to work from that provider.

here is a traceroute from my home to htguide.
Just curious if my provider is to blame or..... ??

Are you using D-link products at all with the problem locations?

Be aware, that we are in process of planning a server move that we hope will remedy a lot of the various problems people have, including slow access times. So, as they say, do not adjust your sets, be a little patient for us to put everything together on the move, and hopefully sooner rather than later, we'll have you connected like gold.

Whatever the problem is, I am sorry your experiencing it.

No, I have a draytek router at home, as well as at the test network.

Now I can access HTguide from home, yesterday I could not. The route is broken somehow. It happens like every month. If the route is lost it takes several days to recover.

Anyway it is fixed now. let's hope the movement is gonna work.

First off I want to say I'm not complaining here, I'm more concerned about people like myself having problems getting on to HTGuide and just turning away because they figure the page is down or no longer exists. Thankfully I tried going just through my modem at home and got on but how many people wouldn't know better or wouldn't bother? This is a great forum that I'm glad to be part of and I'd hate to see us accidently turning people away.

Gordon and I went through just about anything he could think of to try to get me on through my router at home which leads me to believe the problem has been on the Guide's end. As such, I'm really hoping this new move that Doug posted about fixes the problem, whatever it is, for myself and all those people who are missing out on this great forum.

I'm trying hard to get the provider I am using now, as a temporary solution, to solve this problem so it works even before we do the real move to the final location.
Even though most of the reported problems have come from D-LINK users I really think the problem is the way my temporary connection provider has screwed up the DNS entries for HTGuide.com.
I will try to call him again tomorrow to see if this finally can get fixed!!!

            Thanks for the traceroute BTW...
The timeouts at the end is fully ok as this should be blocked in the firewall...

Think I'll stay tuned. I may not have to replace my D-Link after all.

Greetings, another request for knowledge to fill my head with.

I'll be soon cutting the holes in my BP 1503 based AS-15 based SW 12 based subwoofer, and was wondering about the cutting of the holes.
The locations of the 6-1/2" holes to accomodate the port tube are critical,...

I built my first pair of speakers 30+ years ago and am currently planning to get back into this hobby. My last speakers, which I'm still using, were covered with woodgrain self-adhesive vinyl and this time I'm hoping to build something that looks and sounds a bit better .

My goal: On-Wall MTM speakers (LR or LCR) for HT room, BR, DVD, mp3 alike
My room: approx 12x16 or so
