This is no April Fools Joke folks. During the next couple of days, we will be picking a day to migrate HTGuide to a new server. We will have the same reliable service we have always had, as we are not changing Hosting Services, only moving to a new updated state of the art server! Support is working to coordinate things right now.
We will announce the date of migration from old server to the new server in due time. We hope to minimize downtime while the DNS propagates to our new IP address, and service is restored. But some downtime is inevitable.
Allready noticed the volumebar has disapeared, and the silly mute change.
Other question. I've the right datacable (DUH ) it was included by the 1066, but I also have the RR1090 remote. There was also a datacable included. I wonder if it is also the right one, maybe I'm the only lucky basterd with two original Rotel datacables

no not yet...if they're still working on the bass management as per Dre's converstations with Rotel then they might be holding off till that's fixed before releasing it...
Also, I haven't tried 1.48 or 1.49b yet. Did they ever increase the time delay available for the fronts. Currently it max's out at 5ms and I find that this isnt enough for my projector's scalar when playing DTS encoded discs. I dont have a lip sync issue with DD, but I do with DTS for some reason.
I asked Rotel about the change in the mute function from 1.48 to 1.49 and it turns out someone at one of the major trade mags (not important who) wants it the way it is now. I asked about another option for us that would like it not to unmute itself but logistically they can't support two different versions of the same firmware so we're basically out of luck on this one.
This is interesting. I read that article and also manufacturers comments for that article. Rotel stated in the manufacturers comments that they will not do the change since they received comments from dealers (which mean you guys) that the mute function is fine. Now they are changing it ????? :?
I actually like it the old way. Would be nice if mute disengaged automatically on volume up though.
I sent you the firmware. In future its easier if you send me an email requesting which version you need so I can just hit reply and attach the firmware.
One thing I've noticed with 1.49. I have my DirecTV source set for DPLII Cinema as default. When I switch to this source it switches the surround mode accordingly. When I go to a station that is broadcasting in DD 5.1, the 1066 detects this and then switches to DD 5.1. If I leave the channel and go back to a non DD channel, the Rotel defaults to Stereo mode. As you can imagine, this is very annoying. Andrew, could you pass this info on to Rotel?
I take it trevor that it behaved differently before?
Hi Andrew,
First of all, I have not done any upgrades.
My 1066 will keep the surround setting set for that source. So when I go to another channel after watching a DD5.1, no matter the input signal (DD 2.0, PCM Stereo or Analog Stereo) it will default back to PLII Cinema.
I notice the same behavior as you, Trevor_J. When changing channels from a Dolby Digital 5.1 source to any channel that is not digital, the source defaults to PCM stereo rather than the DPLII that I have previously chosen for my default. Then, if you are using the remote that comes with the 1066, you must cycle through all the DSP modes to get back to DPLII. This is annoying. I believe that I am using 1.48 software.
I just got the new beta vevsion 2.25, but have not installed it yet. On to the muting does the mute button still display current firmware if held down! I think that it should. :?
If you've always wanted to control your equipment from your computer/graphic user interface, touchscreen or tablet pc, but thought it was cost prohibitive, think again.
As some of you may know from my previous posts, Immersive, Inc., has introduced a PCI video processor card featuring Faroudja’s patented DCDi processing. The HOLO3DGRAPH is designed to accept Serial Digital Interface (SDI), Component, S-Video, and Composite video inputs. It combines with your PC graphics...
I believe a work around has been developed, at least the Outlaw 1050, for the Dolby Digital Audio Dropouts that have been reported on JPIII, PH and now Atlantis. Some folks have noticed that only some people report this problem while others, such as myself, reported not seeing the problem. Some of us...
Alrighty then my long awaited Rotel RSP-1066 has arrvied and is now installed in my gear rack. I'll preface this review thread by saying that before the rotel 1066 I've owned a Rotel DD/DTS pre amp, HK receiver, Sony DB930, Denon 2800, Denon 3300 and lastly the Sony TA-E9000ES. In each case these were...
