I bought my copy of Troy yesterday and watched it immediately. Very good, but not a great movie. Nice PQ but a bit lacking in SQ (only DD 5.1, no DTS or EX/ES). I have a 7.1 set up so I love to have those features.
What me surprises at the moment is the following. Ever since DVD's hit the market I bought mine through the Internet in the States. This because of earlier releasedates of the better and great flicks and lower prices (even including taxes and shipping). Since about six months or so that is starting to change. All the great titles (Shrek2, Harry Potter, Star Wars IV to VI and so on) are released (almost) simultaneous or even earlier in Europe than in the States. The best example is Troy. Out in Europe now but only releasing in the States in January.
Can anyone explain this phenomenon?
