Magnum PI

I picked up the Magnum PI Season 1 DVD last weekend. It was a fun retrospective. I know, some of the acting is bad by supporting actors, but I enjoyed the bantor between Magnum and Higgins, and the Hawaii scenery along with a sprinkling of T and A makes it not a bad ride. Oh,did I mention the Ferrari? Thomas Magnum said it was a 60K car in one episode. Imagine getting a new Ferrari for that today, ROFL.

I especially enjoyed watching Zeus and Apollo grow up.

Selleck has some good comic timing, it also shows up in the various movies he did.

Any show in Hawaii is interesting to me.

I've been waiting forever for this to come! I've watched the first 4 episodes so far and loving it. I'm just praying that the seasons come fast and furious. I have every single episode on VHS stuffed in a photocopy paper box taking up room!

They've cleaned them up considerably, they could have done better, but I'm not complaining. Actually I am - just like Dallas, why did they not at least remaster it in 5.1? The mono is killing me, even with PLII.

Ahh, some other closet Magnum fans eh? I agree, Magnum PI deserved the best DVD authoring and restoration they could do. It does fall short of that, I think. But at least the ride is the same in the 308 GTS. Oh, a guy up the street has a car very close to this. Someday, I get to drive it he said. :B

This is also one of my favorites. I just haven't had time to pick it up. Like most 80's shows the acting and stories are not very good but I remember wasting alot of time after school watching this show. A childhood memory indeed.

Acting and stories not very good? Have you gone mad? Magnum easily has one of the best cast chemistries ever. And don't forget that Magnum was nominated for Emmy's with Tom Selleck taking some home for best actor. The Bellasario formula is still alive and kicking today.

How's the picture quality....and sound....does it seem early 80's......I sure hope so....the picture was so red back then......
