If you can stand the hokey story, then you'll be glad that the music (classic oldies) and dancing (well choreographed) are first rate (that hasn't changed) and now, with this new DVD release, the video and sound are first rate as well (looks like a new movie). Newly remastered anamorphic transfer, Dolby Digital EX and DTS 6.1 ES Discrete soundtracks make the feature really sparkle. I don't remember any surround activity on the previous editions, but in this one at appropriate places, ambient sounds and crowd noises make their presence subtly felt. (And there are TONS of extra features on a second disc which I may get around to looking at someday.) :>) Recommended.
