    I think I took a WRONG TURN

This was the usual 4 young people ( why always young people ?) find themselves terrorized. This time by 3 inbred mountain folk somewhere in the backwoods of Virginia. This is one GORE FEST if I ever saw one. It had its moments in the scary department, but all in all it's just another slasher flick with involvement from Stan Winston and his makeup and CGI crew. The extra featurette, showing how they created the inbreds and did certain things, was more fun than the movie.

:2: for the flick and :35: for the featurettes.

    Hey George,

Who stars in this film? I'm not sure if I've heard of this one.

None of the faces or names were familiar to me, only Stan Winston who I believe produced the film. Can't check either cause I rented it and have since returned it. It was released theatrically earlier this year, but I don't believe it had a very long run.

The only name I recognized (other than Stan Winston) was Eliza Dushku from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (tv) Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Bring It On etc..

Well it was on the 99 cent rack for I figured "what the heck". Yeesh.

Yup, George is right Wrong Turn is aptly named. The features kept harping that this was a throwback to 70's slasher horror. Nope. It had a few red misty moments, one real ouch (I hate anything around the eyes ) but no rhyme or reason behind it. See kids run from the monsters, see kids die one by one. That's it. Very straight forward with very little to bring to the table.

          Weak effort.

See Pumpkinhead if you like Stan Winston (much better movie, more original).

          :2: / :5:

Yeah on Pumpkinhead. That was pretty darn scary.
