Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon

This has to be my all time favorite album from Pink Floyd. Now released on DVD and can be had for around $15.

Released to coincide with the 30th anniversary of this classic album, learn how Pink Floyd assembled "Dark Side of the Moon" with the aid of original engineer Alan Parsons. All four band members --Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, and Richard Wright-- are interviewed at length, giving valuable insights into the recording process. The themes of the album are discussed at length, and the band take you back to the original multi track tapes to illustrate how they pieced together the songs. With individual performances of certain tracks from Roger, David, and Richard included, this is an essential purchase for any Pink Floyd fans, and a fascinating artefact for rock historians everywhere.
I'm disappointed though that the AR is 4:3. I want it but then again I don't like 4:3 DVD's.... like a stubborn mule.

    Hey Sonnie,

You know if this is the one where they perform the whole thing in Pompei?
If so, I'm going to rush out to buy it. Heard it's great.

Nope, I don't believe the above release is what you are waiting for Keith.

Another DVD was supposed to be released back in June or so but we are still waiting: Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii

I believe it's the one you want. It will have extra footage of making Dark Side and be a remastered Directors Cut. Supposedly an awsome DVD. I can't wait myself.

I understand the Dark Side DVD is pretty good and a must for Pink Floyd fans so I'll pick it up anyway. I'm sure I'll enjoy it either way.

Thanks Sonnie. That is the one I'm waiting for. Just the thought of them performing the whole album amonst the ruins is too cool.

I've been hearing snippets about the Pompeii DVD and am hopping up 'n down in anticipation! ;h

Having been to Pompeii, I can only imagine that already haunted, haunting and strangely beautiful place as the backdrop for a Dark Side Of The Moon concert. Please, whomever is making the DVD, treat it with respect and give it a grandeur appropriate to the location. Don't give us MTV.

          Hopeful in Houston. . . .

Cool David... it will make the DVD much more interesting for you.

These are supposedly the release dates for Live at Pompei:

            July 3rd Germany
            July 15th Korea
            August 6th Brazil
            September 11th Central Europe
            September 17th Australia
            September 18th Benelux
            October 20th United Kingdom
            October 22nd Spain
            October 28th Italy
            November 28th Nordic
            November 28th Japan
            TBC France
            TBC USA

There are also rumors that Pulse and Delicate Sound of Thunder are to be released this month.... but that's doubtful it will happen. You know how those rumors can be. I would think we'd know well in advance the official release date.

So the story goes... I ended up going to the Pearl Jam concert with the guy who I bought the ticket from. His son couldn't make it, picked up the ticket on the way and offered him a ride. Interesting fellow, from Mexico, had only been here a couple years, little hard to understand, every likable fellow......

              Folks,

What better tonic on a Friday (and a snowy one at that....) than to be forced to sit at home and play with my new Christmas present, the delightful Denon 2200. This review is going to be audio-based; for hi-res, cd layer and dvd playback.

I have three pink floyd albums - Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, The Wall. All are burned discs, so the quality isn't that great. I do not have a SACD player, so I'm looking for good remastered versions of the discs I just listed. I thought that some of these albums have been released...
