Watched this last night. Loved it. Forget the rest of the X-Men movies, if you don't like superhero movies (I like the X-Men movies, to varying degrees, but they are unnecessary to view Logan). Best way to describe this film is Unforgiven in the present, with a flavour of sci-fi (but no more than many TV shows these days). Acting by the leads (Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart) is superb--as is the girl who is the focal point of the story.
It is NOT for the squeamish, though it's more Peckinpah than horror/gore movies. Has many stylistic elements reaching back to 60s and 70s filmmaking (first decade post-Hayes code, so 65-75).
NOT a "kiddie superhero movie" (the R rating is there for a reason).
The BD comes with a special edition black and white (properly colour-timed--not just drained of colour) called Logan Noir. Will be watching that soon.
If you like elegiac stories with a western flavour, you'll probably like this one.
