    Slow West

At once classic and subversive in its treatment of Western themes. Surprisingly enough, New Zealand credibly stands in for 1870 Colorado. The acting is very strong and the cinematography is excellent. At 84 minutes, it's not burdened by extraneous material and its deliberate pacing does not rankle. Those who are not fans of westerns may not be convinced but as a fan of the genre, I consider it a worthy addition. :T

Anybody got input on this DVD disc? What is the general style of the disc? Quality of recording? Material?

Note, forgive me if I messed up the title, but I am sure you know the disc, from my name if it's a little off. I couldn't remember if West was in the title.

      Thanks,...

Coast to Coast Sound - Part 1

My first speakers were a pair JBL L-100As that I bought in 1973. I always enjoyed them and still use them today. Their easily identified sound, the so-called West Coast sound, was once a highly touted marketing feature. Ad copy claimed that musicians and...

When posting I am often coming up with an error of some sort or else this thing saying the page can't be accessed. Couple of days ago when access just got a diagnostic error report, which I told Mats about and the page was...

THE GOOD SHEPHERD still interested me greatly. Many reviews I have read found the film boring and less that factual in some cases ( such as the Bay Of Pigs fiasco), and maybe there could have been a little more left on the cutting room floor, but overall the subject matter intrigued me. For those unfamiliar...
