    The Transporter

I finally got around to watching The Transporter this weekend. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I enjoyed it a lot. Jason Statham plays Frank Martin, an ex-military guy that has "retired" to the coast of France. In truth, he's a "transporter" - he'll take any package anywhere for a fee, and not ask any questions. He has two rules: once agreed to, the contract is irrevocable and also, no names. Actually there's a third rule, but that would be telling. . . . especially when he breaks it, and get's WAY more than he bargained for.

It's a European production co-directed by Cory Yuen (of Honk Kong action movie fame) and new-comer Louis Leterrier, so be aware that it has that "euro" feel to it. Jason Statham from Snatch and The One has presence - he's quietly magnetic and pretty darn good at the martial arts. This movie is a cross between a Jackie Chan flick, Ronin and Midnight Run - if you can imagine that!

Again, it may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I really enjoyed this rock 'em, sock 'em little movie. Check it out.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this movie as well. I rented it, but if I see the DVD come out at a good sale price I will probably buy it.

It was another twist on the Bond film genre, and I thought better than XXX, and much better than Die Another Day, which may be the one Bond movie that I don't end up buying. ops:

Rule One: Never change the deal.

Rule Three: Never look in the package.

Ah rules, they seem to need breaking all the time, don't they? Well I guess, if no one broke any rules, then we'd have no movie.

                Homefront... the movie
                by George Bellefontaine
This is standard action fare starring Jason Statham. It's the kind of film Charles Bronson made back in the 70s and 80s. Homefront starts with a big action scene of the DEA taking down a biker gang drug ring. Statham had been working undercover so when the biker gang leader's brother is killed during...

Redemption is not your average Jason Statham flick
                by George Bellefontaine
I always knew Jason Statham could act when he had the right material, and in the case of REDEMPTION, he has the right material in spades. He plays a British soldier who goes AWOL after a bad incident in Afghanistan. To disappear he becomes a homeless, drunken wretch. He gets a chance to get his life...

This is not going to be a long review. In fact what can I say about a movie that I COULDN'T finish. Yep, I had to turn off the movie. Let me begin by saying I love movies that are Stunt and Fight oriented. As a child I dreamt of being a stuntman. But I digress.

                The story concept was...

I picked up the blu-ray last week and got to watch it the other day.

The movie itself was much better than the second one. Still exaggerated, but not as unrealistic as the second movie. I enjoyed it.

The part that stood out to me was the picture quality. This is easily...
