    "Alias" Series DVD Review

    ALIAS

I started spinning this series a few weeks ago and I'm now into the 4th season. All I can say is that I initially liked it.......... Not so much now! Jennifer Garner is easy on the eyes, and the action scenes are well done. This series focuses a lot on physical combat but there is of course, a fair amount of shootin' as well. As well, there are some big name guest stars (ie....Quinton Tarantino)!!

Sydney Brisco (Garner) is a secret agent. She starts out as a double agent, then at one point becomes an outright agent for the CIA, then at one point in the 4th season becomes some sort of 'another' agent.

By the end of the 3rd season, the series started to become a little to self serving and stupid things started happening and my head started to shake back and forth. People are supposed to be dead and/or killed in the real world but turns out they're not. Now, into the 4th season I'm pretty much ready to walk away from the series.

Normally, a good TV series gets better and more engaging as the seasons unfurl but this one starts off well and then starts to peter out and gets self serving and somewhat repetitive as it moves on...........now I'm somewhat bored by it.

5/10 for what could have been a great series.

I watched this some years ago. Enjoyable fluff but I had few expectations of superior quality or groundbreaking aspects of television production. A less humorous version of Chuck in some ways. Fun, but cotton-candy like in terms of "nutrition".

I just finished this series despite the fact that I said I was walking away in my last post. Things picked up nicely in the 4th season and then it all goes to hell in a hand basket in the 5th and final season. The story line and writing is all over the place in the 5th and final season!

However, I will say that this show was not boring and I stuck with it for that reason alone. I somehow just wish the writing could have stayed a little more on track and focused. R.I.P Sydney Brisco and Alias......... and burn in hell Sloan!!. Amen!

I'm in the process of spinning the series "Homeland" on DVD and I'm well into the first season and love it!. It's about the CIA counter terrorism unit working to find a POW that was captured and tortured by the Taliban and 'turned' by them into being a US operative....

        24 - Season 3
        by EAmin
Season 3 comes out on DVD on 12/7. It'll give new viewers interested in watching Season 4 (which starts in the U.S. on Jan. 9 on FOX) some time to catch up on the last three seasons. The quality of the S1 and S2 DVDs themselves are okay, but the entertainment value is top-notch. Season 2 is the best...
