    Review of "Jobs" DVD

I spun this on DVD yesterday and I must say first off, that Kutcher's resemblance to Steve Jobs is utterly uncanny in this film!!. Damn,,,,, does he ever look like the dude!. After this fact, the movie somewhat 'fizzles' and fails to engage. I'm not sure why.....but......it just does. It has a lot of Bruuu....haha moments of 'I love Apple' and standing ovations to Steve's many "We are going to change the World" speeches. Everybody that knows me knows that I do not buy into the whole Apple hysteria. Over rated by far!!. I've played with their stuff and hate their interface and overall appearance (Go ahead and flame me!!). I dunno.....I think the problem with this film lies with the script and the direction. Plus, it peters off after Jobs gets booted out of the company and then re-hired. I would have liked a complete history of his life right up to his family life and death from cancer. I think with a better script and direction, this could have been a MUCH better film.

6/10 stars for this movie (At best!)

Yeah, this review is kinda what I've heard about the film so far. I'll watch it when it comes out on TV.

Probably not a lot of it in this movie, though.

How much should a student first time film cost?
          by oldbob
In answer to my own question, I would say between $10,000 and $40,000 dollars. It used to be more but digital has drastically lowered the cost while at the same time making it much easier to produce a professional look.

However, this isn’t a story about reasonable. This is the true...

Student film year 5 and 6

Year five rolls around and the Director calls me up. He tells me that he wants to start over, new script, new actors, fresh start beginning to end. Even the crew will be new, except for me. He wants to know if I think I could shoot it. "Yes, sure I have only shot commercials but lighting is most...

          Student Film part three

Now we all have learned that at the beginning of each day you are given your pages of the days work. For me that means I can figure out how I am going to utilize my crew and plan my day. The more I can get ahead of the company with pre-lighting the more time I can save production. And in film time is...

Latest press release from Parasound. I have a personal connection to this one, as I grew up in Colorado, and played sports with Columbine High School. The Columbine massacre really touched me, as I would imagine it did to all of us. I think I'm going to send a message the way of Andrew Robinson,...

Inside Man - latest Heist film
          by Shane Martin
Heist films are usually a dud and tend to be a bit comical at times but this one is completely different. I knew it would be as soon as the "Spike Lee Joint" sign pops up during the opening sequence. Spike Lee usually does pieces about racism and human element type pieces but here he does...
