    Ohhh, that Magnificent Seven

I finally got around to watching this. It was one of the many titles building up on my YETTOBESEEN rack.I've seen this movie more times than I can remember, but always from my VHS copy. Now I have it in glorious widescreen with a transfer that MGM did properly. Hell, they even put an excellent hour long documentary on the disc as well. And the sound wasn't all that bad, either, but nothing like today's soundtracks. But every time I watch Steve McQueen playing with his hat and stealing scenes, and displaying his fancy gun handling, and that great music score-- the hair stands up on the back of my neck.If it's possible to war out a dvd, I'll find out because I'll be playing this film over and over in the weeks, months and years ahead.

Gave this a whirl tonight. I’m a big fan of the original so was a bit wary regarding a remake. In the end, nicely done. Faithful to the spirit of the original while standing on its own. Worth a viewing for any Western fans.

First I gotta tell you that Burt Lancaster is one of my top 10 actors of all time, he never had great range as an actor, but he always made up for it with great passion, impeckable delivery and he could pick a good script...this is no exception.
I'm so glad to get Seven Days in May on DVD....

Last week I watched from my front porch as two homes 50 yards away were devoured by flame.
Pumper trucks could not access the two hydrants on the same block with cars parked as usual in total defiance of unenforced posted regulation.

Earlier this eve, as NotCho Dawg & I made our...

      Using your THX
      by John Holmes
I was reading a thread at another forum and there was a question pertaining to the use of THX Cinema with the new Seven disc.

I have recently noticed that THX with most DD/DTS disc results in a dulling of the overall sound and dynamics. At first I thought that this was because I also...
