Ol' George must be getting low on cash. Suddenly he wants to embrace dvd. He waited a little too long in my opinion.I'll put my money with the studios and directors who were behind dvd from the getgo.

Yeah, Kenny, that's what I hear, the deleted footage is all about a love triangle between Jar Jar, Queen Amadalia, and Anakin. Whoooo... makes my skin crawl just to think about it....
I got ThomasW the LD of this movie for Xmas last year; did get to view it; the sound is *awesome*. I suspect I'd be pretty happy with a clean FOX anamorphic DVD transfer- if they LBX this puppy, I'll personally put a contract out on the person or persons responsible. Can you imagine the angst if they put a pan and scan and LBX version on the DVD? Shades of Titanic, and I think the original Bugs Life.
Two movies I just recently bought were "Siege" and "X Files: Fight the Future", because they were finally available in anamorphic widescreen. I'd buy "Armageddon" if they'd release it in the US in "Enhanced Widescreen" as Fox puts it (they also include a DTS sound track).
Regards,
Jon
PS. Thanks again for the recommendation for "The Sixth Day".

Don't forget, "Last of the Mohicans" and "Predator" were also just released enhanced and DTS...and both look better than the original releases, as they should.
Rebuying Armageddon...I am not sure I'll do it, I bought it the first time, then I bought the Criterion version...I'm just not sure I want to pony-up three times...although it is stupid fun!!!- Bottom
