Saw this recently. Looks and sounds great on BD. Mildly entertaining while it's on but I have no desire to watch it again. A decent rental when you're looking for an action movie that isn't too long (just over 90mins. so you'll still have time to do something else that day) but nothing that is worth a serious detour.
The Losers mildly diverting

Yeah, I've been passing over this one, unsure if it was worth a go. Sometime when I can't find anything else, I'll give it a try.- Bottom

I'm a bit of a Zoƫ Saldana fan (especially in hi-def
). Otherwise, I probably would have given it a pass. I originally thought, when I first heard it was based on a DC comics series, it was a WWII movie (when I was a kid, The Losers were a squad deployed in a variety of "suicide missions" across both major theatres of WWII), so I wasn't really enamoured with a radical change--I was more forgiving, later on, when I learned it was based on a different series with the same name).
In any event, as I noted, it isn't worth a major effort to catch. With low enough expectations, though, it works as the cinematic equivalent of an "airport novel".- Bottom

by OvationA diverting and entertaining action movie, with good onscreen chemistry between Chris Pine and Denzel Washington. Worth a rental or a bargain bin purchase (I'm unlikely to watch it again but I would not protest if I were at someone's house and they wanted to play it while I was there).-

A few individually amusing moments interspersed with others that fall flat and still others that are likely to generate a wide range of opinions. Some of the best...-

by Andrew PrattYET EVEN as DVD surges, it is on a different economic path than video, and one that is fraught with dangerous unknowns.

by OvationNot as entertaining as the original, IMO, but still a decent escapist sci-fi movie. The effects are well done, the soundtrack will give your sub a workout and there are a few small nods to the original that are fun to pick out if you're a fan of the first one. Ebert's reviews of each one reflects my...-

Oldtimers like myself will probably get more of a hoot out of this film than the younger generation, but there's enough action and CGI to keep everyone glued to their seat during the last half of the movie. The soundtrack will also give your system a good workout as well.
