Not as entertaining as the original, IMO, but still a decent escapist sci-fi movie. The effects are well done, the soundtrack will give your sub a workout and there are a few small nods to the original that are fun to pick out if you're a fan of the first one. Ebert's reviews of each one reflects my views on them pretty well. Might buy as a bargain bin sale (I have the original) but otherwise a recommended rental.
