    Frenzy's transfer

I love this Hitchcock movie and hadn't seen it in years so I gobbled it up as soon as it became available on DVD. Watched it last night and was a little disappointed in the transfer.Unlike Vertigo, which was obviously restored, Frenzy had some dirst spots and marks that were obvious at times. I also felt the picture to be a bit on the dark side and had to jam up the brightness on my projector to see the detail. Anyone remember if this is how it was shot for the theater ? The sound is 2.0 mono so I wasn't expecting anything there. Anyway, I'm just glad to have this baby in my AH collection.

I too am hoping to pick this up soon, I can't speak as to the original look of the movie.
I'm alittle sad to hear that it's not up to par...tonight I'm hoping to pick up Rear Window...that should be a beauty!

Foreign Correspondent--Classic Hitchcock and classic propaganda

Pulled this off the shelf last night. I have a sizeable Hitchcock collection (my favourite director) and this was among the few I'd not seen yet. A great example of 30s style filmmaking (a 1940 release, but it fits the 30s quite well).

You can see a number of Hitchcock flairs and touches...

      Hitchcock...

Ovation`s post on a Hitchcock classic reminded me of this movie on Hitchcock so I watched it last night.

This partial bio stars Anthony Hopkins as Hitch and Helen Mirren as his wife . It is based on a book that dealt with the making of Psycho. Also stars Scarlett Johnasson as Janet Leigh...

      Mr. & Mrs. Smith--Hitchcock makes a comedy?!
      by Ovation
Pulled another classic off the shelf last night. Hitchcock's only "straight comedy" (no murder, no mayhem), this stars the woman who defined "screwball comedienne"--Carole Lombard. Also starring Robert Montgomery, the story, style and comical moments are straight from the late 30s/early...

This transfer will knock your socks off
      by George Bellefontaine
It's a French film entitled Brotherhood Of The Wolf. It's a very long film( 2 1/2 hours) and it dragged at times, but it didn't matter to me, I was just too busy soaking up this gorgeous transfer. IMO, this transfer is even better than the Fifth Element Superbit. The colors, the deep contrast and the...

Please help me to understand the transfer function of a bi-pole. (not dipole)

Please help me to understand the transfer function of a bi-pole.

In the past I have used the baffle simulator in Jeff B's Response Modeler 2.1 to visualize the transfer function of a dipole based on the the total path length (x dimension) from driver to driver.

      I imagine...
