If you like this movie (and I do) or are just thinking about getting it be aware...word is that the two disc SE is a lousy transfer, with only 2.0 sound and the longer "Red Dragon" version that was supposed to come out, is only 3 minutes longer than the single disc version...and to top it off, the single disc is 5.1 sound, and from reports a much better transfer...very strange, I had both in my hand, and both are THX certified (that doesn't mean much I know)
I bought the single disc, 3 extra minutes of footage is not worth $15.

Thanks for the heads up. Not only do we need inputs about good disks to rent or buy, I also appreciate warnings about potential clunkers and misfires. An "SE" that isn't special certainly comes under that kind of heading.

Hold off a second here, what I've been told is that one disc is just the same as my single disc, the other is the longer version, and it is a substandard transfer, and 2.0 surround, but it is considered an extra, so you get both...I'm going back to the store tomorrow, and if that's the case I'm exchanging them, I'll let you know.
