    Forbidden Planet

Man, this movie is still amazing over 50 years later.

I'd only ever seen it on TV. Nabbed the blu-ray and watched last weekend. Definitely worth picking up if your a fan of classic sci-fi. Sound was vintage, but clearly reproduced. Picture was overall really good.

Yeah, Brandon, I've had this on vhs tape and then on dvd. I'll be picking up the Blu-ray because it has always been one of my favorite sci-fi films. The attack of the invisible monster at the spaceship landing site still gives me the chills.

I've been enjoying it on HD DVD for nearly four years now--glad that it's now available in hi-def for the vast majority in the form of BD.

Is the PQ on the Blu-Ray a noticeable improvement over the DVD?

Even if the transfer is the same as the HD DVD, I would say it is a very noticeable improvement over the DVD transfer I've seen.

It is the same transfer. I have never seen the DVD though.

              Rega Planet 2000?
              by migliore
I see Rega has release a new planet. Anyone heard/seen one? Does Rega have a website yet? I don't have much information on it. I've been quite happy w/ my 1998 Planet.

I think they also re-did the Jupiter/IO into a one-box solution - is this true?

              Thanks,
              Rob ...

              Final Labs Duramas!

I added these to my Jupiter and it made a bigger difference than I thought possible, I use em in combination with vibrapods. Vibrapods->MDF->Duramas->Jupiter, Horizontal and vertical isolation sounds different fuller midrange and an ease to the sound. Cost...

              Red Planet

I just watched Red Planet with the wife yesterday. I was impressed. This is a better movie than people realize. It's way different than Mission to Mars. I think the only thing the two have in common is that they are on Mars. Other than that, the storylines go different ways. This made for a pleasant...

Rega Planet/Jupiter vs. used Meridian 605
              by Lex
These CD players sort of strike me visually, and honestly, likely won't be able to audition either in my system without just buying it. I can see a new Planet locally, heck, maybe a Jupiter too if I call the Importer who is local.

The Meridian was seen online, but may be gone. Really...
