    Pirate Radio

Wow, I'm surprised no one has reviewed this one yet! If you're a lover of rock music, you'll really like the soundtrack. Lots of 60's music from the Stones, Beatles, and many others.

The film is a rather quirky comedy about a ship parked off the coast of Britain in the 60's transmitting rock-and-roll to the masses, since it couldn't be played on British radio. My wife and I both loved this, and were thoroughly entertained (which is somewhat rare for her...).

I watched the blu-ray version which looked and sounded great, and apparently the American version is a bit shorter than the British version. One recommendation I will make is that you MUST watch the deleted scenes. The director comments at the start that many scenes had to be cut due to time constraints, no story line fit, etc., but they are definitely some of the funniest scenes...some even better than the movie itself.

I'd gotten away from music-based films for several years, but after how much I enjoyed Cadillac Records I'll definitely give this one a viewing.

I've got this on my Zip (Canadian version of Netflix) account. Good to hear it's a "gooder".

Had a bit of a break a few nights ago, so managed to tackle a couple of unwatched movies from the (too large) pile.

First up: Seconds (1966) by John Frankenheimer. Considered part of his unofficial "paranoia trilogy" (along with The Manchurian Candidate (1962) and Seven Days...

I'm stoked, new British made Marshall head in route Monday!
          by Lex
I ordered me a true British made Marshall head, made to their exacting standards, not some Vietnamese knock off like I have now that tore up in first 6 months. Just saying.

I ordered a JVM @ a better rate than site pricing. That helps.

          Radio Raves

I have two questions relating to broadcast radio.

First is, I live 1 ½ blocks from the transmitting tower of an FM radio station. I have regular coax TV cable (not digital) running to my TV. And yes, I can hear the radio station on my system at times, regardless of the source I’m...

          Movie Scenes for the Ages
          by Chris D
There's a few movie scenes that I would label as "epic" that will stick with me for the rest of my life. These are not just entertaining scenes from movies that I really like, or stuff that I use to show off my system because they're visually and sonically flashy. No, these scenes have something...
