There is a new radio thats to come out called the {it was to be called the grundig satellite 900} eton e1 xm that contains : 1) xm satellite radio and digital audio band which is the new broadcasting standerd that i think upgrades shortwave and am radio to almost fm sound quality in stereo and fm to cd quality sound.
2) continuous shortwave/ssb/dual conversion superheterodyne circuits/passband tuning and selectable bandwidth fillters/stereo line level input/output with external antenna connections also bass/treble controls and rl drakes dxing for the tuner.
This can be an excellent preamp/tuner for an amp/reciever with its tuner capabilties and also run on batteries.
It is to released at the second quarter of this year/no price yet.
The radio also won best new product at the ces.
