A stretch-the-credibility thriller starring Gerard Butler and Jamie Foxx. Butler, a supposedly ordinary citizen ( he isn't as we learn later ) goes off the deep end after his wife and daughter are murdered during a robbery/home invasion. Foxx is a prosecutor who makes a deal with one of the robbers to get a quick conviction and this sets off a series of murders by Butler. Even though he is arrested and sent to prison, he is able to carry off his crimes. How he does it was a real stretch for me to buy and I'll let it go at that. If you like this type of film, it will probably be a decent rental. Just check your brain at the door.

by OvationNot as entertaining as the original, IMO, but still a decent escapist sci-fi movie. The effects are well done, the soundtrack will give your sub a workout and there are a few small nods to the original that are fun to pick out if you're a fan of the first one. Ebert's reviews of each one reflects my...-
