    Year One

I liked this movie It was pretty funny. Jack Black is generally one dimensional and this movie was no exception, but the movie fit his style. Now this is not a classical comedy, but the humor was there consistantly. It was a mix between understated and overstated, generally with a dry and sometime subtle delivery.

The two main characters interaction was not far removed from reality, where one is the dominate "leader" and the other follows along only semi willingly, knowing things won't go well, but hey that's friendship.

Able and Cain... the wheel and all was really funny. It put me in mid other the Mel Brooks History of the World, but a little less wacky, a little more subtle and dead pan.

I'll be looking to buy it in 6 months or so when it's decently discounted. It's one of those silly comedies I'd watch once a year for a good laugh.

As reference if find these movies very funny in a similar way :T

I actually didn't like this movie much. It wasn't at all what I thought or what they showed it to be, the time line was all out of whack, and generally it wasn't as funny as I had hopped. Sure there were some parts I chuckled at but all in all I felt disappointed in the end.

It looked like a retread of the old Dennis Quaid and Ringo Starr Caveman to me.

How would you compare it to that?

Bottom of my post... Yep, liked that one too. Not quite a retread, but I understand what you mean. There are only so many notes, stories and all. For a silly comedy it's all good with me.

I thought this was an unusual comedy and didn't regret renting it. Jack Black was, well Jack Black. But I really felt that Michael Cera stole the movie. The humor was mostly subtle, but I did laugh out loud a couple of times.

I have to say... even though I wasn't expecting much, I didn't find myself laughing not even once. Jack Black seems to have a hit or miss on combo-type comedy movies.

In time for Halloween -- Scary Movie 3
              by Burke Strickland
Scary Movie 3 (SM3) is solidly in the bad-taste-is funny, sight-gags-galore spoof-a-rama tradition of Airplane! (the same director did both). Unlike Scary Movie 2, which was a tired re-hash of the "original" Scary Movie, (which I enjoyed), SM3 treads new ground, parodying not just horror flicks...

I am a Sci-fi movie type of guy. So most things with a lot of action and wizz bang effects, tend to keep me happy in my movie (read between the lines...HT!). So, when a film dosen't have these items as it's draw and it still has me compelled to the point of not wanting to hit the pause...

              Netflix – Watch Instantly – MST3000
              by greenhorn
Heads up to any MST3000 fans. Net flix just added about 6 MST 3000 titles to their “Watch Instantly” section.

I watched “The Racket” last night, had not ever seen this one, it’s with Mike. The Lisa Loeb take off is pretty funny. There is a short “So You Want To Get Married”...

I haven't noticed any one commenting on this movie... I accidentally stumbled across it at Movie Gallery and figured what the heck.

A sequel to Get Shorty, which I really liked.

I've always been a big fan of John Travolta and why not get a little more of Chili Palmer. ...

              America's Sweethearts- whose movie?
              by JonMarsh
I saw this movie this weekend. I've seen a few different reviews by people, some not all that hot (B-, C+) discussing this as "the new Julia Roberts Movie". And then they complain about how small a role Julia Roberts had in this movie.

Reality reset time, folks. Julia Roberts...
