Has anyone else run across this foreign film? I chanced on it last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. An excellent film for the Christmas season, telling the story of particularly eventful Christmas during WWI.

Excellent film. Based on real events (though they were not so well coordinated in real life), it offers a very good presentation of how the "grand ideas" that allegedly (and sometimes actually) motivate countries in warfare seem rather remote to the "grunts", especially as their "opposite numbers" seem far more kindred in spirit and kind than their "superiors".

Had a few friends over for Christmas last night. CamBot, Gypsy, Tom Servo, Crow… and (in this case) Mike. I love this program, spent many a “relaxing” few hours watching MST3k back in the day. Love it or hate it, I love it. I got MST3k Volume one on DVD for Christmas.
