Had a few friends over for Christmas last night

Had a few friends over for Christmas last night. CamBot, Gypsy, Tom Servo, Crow… and (in this case) Mike. I love this program, spent many a “relaxing” few hours watching MST3k back in the day. Love it or hate it, I love it. I got MST3k Volume one on DVD for Christmas.

Christmas time was really busy. Worked Christmas Eve from about 6:00am till Noon and then hosted a large family get together at my house for Christmas Eve. We had my Mom over for breakfast Christmas morning. Out and about after that with Mom to visit Sister in hospital, trip to cemetery to pay respects to Father and another Sister. Mom and I swung back by to pick up wife and daughter for a short road trip to other sisters house for Christmas dinner. Hadn’t seemed like I’d had a minute or two to sit and relax in days.

Finally got home about 7:00pm and settled down to relax at about 7:30pm. Took a deep breath and thanked everyone for wonderful time and gifts… Couple hours to relax before calling it a day, work in the morning 6:00am. So many nice things…

Hum, oh yes Mystery Science Theater 3000 volume 1, what better way to relax, wind down have a few good laughs. I announce to the wife and daughter that screening of whatever disc is first will begin at 8:00pm prompt. Wife gets a load of wash going and daughter quickly begins looking for a save point in the new video game she just had started. Yep, at 20 she has a new found appreciation for MST3k, stating that she wishes she had paid more attention to when we watched years ago, although I doubt she would have got as much of the humor as she does now.

7:55pm and out comes the first disc in the box, a tasty treat called

    “The Skydivers”

    From IMDB –
Thrill jumping guys... thrill seeking gals... daring death with every leap!
First feature length motion picture showing the daredevils of the sky who free fall from heights of 20,000 feet with only a ripcord between life and death!

The “bots” (as we refer to them) did a very fine job tearing this horrible piece of film to shreds. Theirs was an excellent critique of the cinematic qualities along with the off beat social references and the prerequisite cleavage, derriere and goofy sexual tension commentary. As a bonus, before the movie there was one of there famous (or infamous depending on your perspective) shorts. The short was an Education film about the Value of Industrial Arts in High School, Top Notch!

Yeah, that was fun. I bought "MST3k - The Movie" on VHS a while ago. Other than that, for some reason I can't really get into watching it on video.

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

Thought it would be nice to share some of the cd's/ albums we like to enjoy during the Christmas holidays. Some of my favorite are:

Christmas with BABYFACE ( Epic EK 69617)
A nice upbeat R&B take on the classics. Nicely mastered as well.

Colin Hanks is a FBI agent who has to spy on his sexually overactive mom ( Meg Ryan ) because she is dating a suspected international art thief ( Antonion Banderas ). The plot is an interesting one and it allows for some comedic moments, but overall I found this film nothing special, just OK. Fine for...

Wishing everyone a great Christmas Holiday!

I'm still so far behind where I expected to be by this time this year, it's not remotely funny, but as they say, life is what happens while you're busy making other plans, and sometimes the needs of others must be met!

But now it's time to kick back and relax (except for Sven, he's shared

        A Christmas or Holiday tradition
        by Lex
        A Christmas tradition of sorts.

Yeah, sure, we usually watch the Santa Clause, and I guess next year, SCII as well.

But my own tradition is the Die Hard trilogy. lol. I watched I and II last night. I myself, always thought 1 and 3 were the best, and 2 was just a bad acting...
