    Father Christmas came early!!

    Hi All
Had my Christmas presents to myself delivered today

I visited my local store with the view of upgrading my CNT speaker as I have never been impressed with the performance of the centre. I was going to keep my existing 9NT's as I thought the sound from them has always been excellent. Anyway after a battle with the dealer (I actually just rolled over and let him take my wallet after the demo ) I ended up with the HTM2 that I went in for and also a pair of 803's to match it

WOW what a difference, it is like chalk and cheese, the bass from the 803's is so tight and room filling - I am blown away by them.
I put the first CD on and my wife came in and said "wow, they sound great" and my wife NEVER comments about my new toys, anyway tried them out with MJ, This is it and Joe Bonnamassa Blu rays tonight and the speakers really sound good

Just need to put the HTM2 to the test with a good film now

A couple more piccies for you to enjoy

Nice. Might I suggest a rug to soften things a bit up front? Also darker paint around your projection screen can be a very good thing. I went with a dark maroon, after first having it dark gray. I still have the darkness, without it being drab and colorless. Enjoy your setup!

Speakers are like a fine wine.......they only improve over time. If they sound good now, wait and see how they sound in 5-6 years. Whoff!!! :-)

Thanks for all your kind replys, I just keep hugging my new family ops: .
I am looking for a slightly higher cabinet for the centre speaker, do you think tilting it a little would help?
Yes, I have a large chinese rug I will try to see if it calms the room down a bit, although I seem to have loads of bass anyway :T ;x( !!!

We kept the wall "all white" so that we do not see bars if a film or programme is broadcast in a different format to 16:9

My father, the HD newbie (funny story)
                        by sikoniko
Last summer my father bought himself a 42 in plasma. He lives in Ohio, I live in Florida. When I visited him shortly after he had regular cable, so I instructed him to upgrade to HD service (he has Insight). Dutifully, he did.

Over the phone I would ask him what he thought and he would...

Had a few friends over for Christmas last night. CamBot, Gypsy, Tom Servo, Crow… and (in this case) Mike. I love this program, spent many a “relaxing” few hours watching MST3k back in the day. Love it or hate it, I love it. I got MST3k Volume one on DVD for Christmas.

This is some of my favorite Christmas music. The Trans Siberian Orchestra has created two albums of Christmas music, but they are very unique. The albums are actually Rock Operas, telling stories through music, both instrumental and vocal. Some of the songs are original compositions, while others are...

I must admit, I have a weakness for Jazz Christmas music, and I definitely have a weakness for Diana Krall. So when my Lovely wife presented me with this CD, to say I was excited was an understatement :B

To begin with I absolutely love the cover art which shows Diana...

Well, it's a bit after 9 AM, I've rebooted and rescanned the USB library on my AURALiC Aries streamer (added more "Christmas" albums, of course), and we've probably got enough music queued up to last till evening. Certainly will get us through the rest of preparing Christmas dinner and dinner...
