    The Mist

    Hello All,

What did you think of Stephen King's The Mist? My wife & I enjoyed this horror. Different ending, I was really shocked!!!

Have not seen the movie yet but i think i will give it a rental.

I understand that the disc has a special home version which can be played in b+w.

I'll rent it when it becomes available.

I don't know about the special b&w version, but if it was released in color, which it was, why would anyone want to watch it in black and white ? It is almost as bad as colorizing those classic black and white movies. Why ???

George its on disc 2...umm...perhaps it makes the MONSTERS more frightening or real and may harken back to 60's films that had b&w because (according to directors) gave better shadows/darker images or creepy type effects.

Perhaps so, Robert, but I prefer to watch a movie how it was shown in the theater, be it color or black and white. Guess I just some kind of purist.
Just seems like the waste of a disc. I'd say drop it and lower the price of the dvd.

It's on the collectors edition for the two versions.

Well, watched this last night. It was just okay. I found the religious fruitcake ( Marcia Gay's character ) a bit much, and found it hard to accept her taking control and turning decent people into killers. As for the ending, well it just seems to me the gun was used way too soon for any intelligent person. BTW, the novella ends differently: in it you can tack on your own ending.

Nothing is resolved. You don't know what happens to the characters.

The whole movie was very emotional and what not and the the ending just kind of leaves you upset. I don't know I liked it but at the end I'm just like "that was sad" but at the same time I'm like wanting more.

I wish they would have shot that religious woman a long time ago

This cop drama is based on an original story and screenplay by James Elroy (L. A. Confidential ) and that was reason enough to get my interest in this film. It stars Keanu Reeves as a detective in a special squad that makes its own rules. It's headed by Forest Whitaker. Nasty things happen that get...

So last night my GF and I decided to share the original Psycho with our 13 year old daughter, well my step-daughter. Sure initially she balked at the idea of watching a dumb, old movie and oh my god it's black and white! 8O All black and white movies are dumb!

                      But you should have seen...
