"IF YOU FAIL TO PLAN, YOU PLAN TO FAIL" -
DTS will always be a niche format (a number of studios either never used it or dropped it early on) and, to be honest, I don't really notice a big difference. I often use it if it's there, but mostly out of habit. -
Was this movie any good? I'm not thinking so... the first one was trash.
As for DTS, I always select it when watching legacy DVD's. The jury's still out for high-definition discs.

I'm a new proud owner of the Rotel 1098 and i'm very happy with it. The only strange thing i've noticed (a bug, maybe?) is with DTS ES 96/24 decoding. If i set back surround channel off, using the rotel in a simply 5.1 configuration, DTS ES 96/24 soundtracks appears to be decoded as "simply"... -
But first to check if your 5.1 works fine.....

Download the last item called "Multichannelcheck" in either DD or DTS. It's in Swedish but that makes no difference, it will do the job.
