    Bobby

This movie revolves around one day, June 4,1968 at The Ambassador Hotel and the lives of people that were there leading up to this tragic day. I like historical movies and whether or not you grasp the fiction or non-fiction of this movie that day began with tremendous hope for our country and ended in tragedy. Roberts' speech "On the Mindless Menace of Violence" is played as the shots fire out in the movie and is a bittersweet reminder of what could've been. Funny how forty years later things haven't changed......... There is an all star cast here and I think Emilio Estevez did an excellent job writing/directing this film. I highly recommend this dvd.

Yeah, I do plan on renting this. For me, though, it is one of those films that I have to be in the right mood to watch.

New Star Trek movie sure to be bittersweet--Anton Yelchin (Chekov) died yesterday
      by Ovation
However one feels about the Trek revival on film (I've watched Trek since the fall of 1973, as a 6 year old, seen every episode and movie of every version of Trek--I'm a big fan of the new movies), any Star Trek fan (or fan of movies) has to be saddened at the news of Anton Yelchin's tragic death yesterday,...

LOVE SONG FOR BOBBY LONG proves...

Just how wonderfully versatile an actor John Travolta really is. This is a little ( independent) film that also stars Scarlet Johannsen. Got a feeling Travolta did this for next to nothing just to play the part of Bobby Long, a character you won't quickly forget.

Movie versions of books (or vice versa)
      by Chris D
This may be a good discussion. The topic is popular books that have been made into movies. By and large, my personal opinion is that movie renditions of good books fall far short for a few reasons. First, I think due to the media of print, books allow for a much more thorough immersion of the reader...

      America's Sweethearts- whose movie?
      by JonMarsh
I saw this movie this weekend. I've seen a few different reviews by people, some not all that hot (B-, C+) discussing this as "the new Julia Roberts Movie". And then they complain about how small a role Julia Roberts had in this movie.

Reality reset time, folks. Julia Roberts...
