Very good movie. Watched it with the new WMTW center and IB finally working and it was a great immersive movie experience. You can't help but feel sorry for the crew. Talk about if they wouldn't have bad luck they wouldn't have no luck at all. Highly reccommend this. I know it has been reviewed before but this is a first time viewing for me.

I remember seeing itwhen it first came out,and thought it was a great film.
A couple of years ago,I rented the director's cut...and found it to be a bit too long.As in drawn out.So I would recommend the original. -
Not only is it still a reference soundtrack, it's a great, grand, sad, captivating story with some Oscar-worthy performances..

Just thought I'd warn you. The Superbit DVD of Das Boot has only the German soundtrack in DTS. The English version is DD 5.1. Personally, on this movie I don't care. I've seen the English version enough that I watch it in German with subtitles now. Can't wait to here this in DTS - wow!

Called the Das Boot of tank movies by at least one critic. Worth renting but, not even close to being in the league of Das Boot. While the tight quarters of the tank were well depicted I felt the story was weak. It bothered me that members of the infantry would pop in and out of the tank but, no member... -
I'm sure everyone knows this is a sub movie about a nuclear meltdown at sea on a Russian sub in the sixties. Based on true events, the film stars Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson.

The only thing scary about this flick was watching a good actor like Jurgen Prochnow ( the Sub captain of Das Boot) trying not to look pathetic. There must be better roles for a fellow like him out there somewhere.
