    Chicken Little

Watched this one from Netflix. Overall, good movie, but I wasn't "wow-ed". I love cartoons, as I think they're delightfully silly fun. But it's a mini-shame, and a HUGE testament to Pixar, that Pixar has set the bar so high now for animated movies that every other one has to match up. It's a tough bar to reach. Before "A Bug's Life" and "Toy Story", cartoons were just fun diversions that could be cranked out every few months. But Pixar showed that an animated flick done right can be a DELIGHT.

Anyway, to this particular movie--not bad, but storyline was kind of so-so, music did nicely but didn't gel perfectly, and animation was pretty good, but not great. It got better, I thought, over the course of the movie.

    I'll give it :3: out of :5:

(I'll probably still end up buying this one for the kid collection)

Well, we're safe for now. Thank goodness we're in a bowling alley.

Not if you just buy the bar. Pixar guys are now firmly in control of the direction of our animation studio. And they have a strong interest in our part of the company too. It'll be a year or so though before the "pixar dust" really has an effect for us though.

      Pixar's new "Up"
      by Chris D

Took the family to go see "Up" last night. (side note, but we only have a mediocre theater in this area, image was fuzzy, had several annoying teenagers on a Friday night, paid $22 for 2 adults/1kid and another $19 in concessions--this is why I don't see movies outside my...

      Pixar's "Brave"

Just took the fam to see Pixar's latest. I get the feeling that Pixar is allowing more and more Disney input into their films. It was a good, solid, film, but not one I would put in Pixar's top tiers of films.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, that Pixar has always set the...

      Pixar's Monsters University
      by Chris D
This is a prequel to Pixar's popular Monster's Inc, telling the story of how ALL of the main characters of the original movie (I can't think of any left out) met each other. Mainly about Mike Wiszowski and James P. Sullivan, as they meet in college, initially on very bad terms.

      Overall,...

Although my kids saw this latest Pixar offering in the theaters, I didn't see it until buying it on 3D Blu Ray this week.

My wife didn't want to watch in 3D in our private theater, so we did the standard Blu Ray in the bedroom. First up, fantastic picture quality,...

      New Pixar movie "Cars"
      by Chris D
We're about a month away from Pixar's new movie "Cars" being released. I know that there's a lot of people who are highly excited about this one, just like me.

Pixar has done so incredibly great with every movie they've done so far, making a great flick, that I'm always apprehensive...
