    8 Mile

    RATED.........R_R_R.

Wasn't sure what to expect but knowing Rap is popular with a lot of people it seemed worth a try.

What a suprise! It captured my attention throughout the entire movie and will be on my "to watch" list again. It is guaranteed to exercise the driver's on your speakers and sub.

I can certainly see how it is so controversial with the language, but if you have an open mind and can get past it........I say go for it.......:yesnod:

Merovingian: I love French wine, like I the French language. I have sampled every language, French is my favorite. Fantastic language. Especially to curse with. Nom de dieu de putain de bordel de merde de saloperie de connard d'enculé de ta mère. It's like wiping your ass with silk. I love it.

Seems like they ended the show abruptly. I guess they just wanted to show him getting started early in his career.

It certainly was a rock your socks off show.... :dudes:

I thought it was kinda overboard with poor acting, kind of like a movie-of-the-week special. An eminem self-promotion attempt.

              I'd give it a generous :2: out of :5:.

I thought for a first time actor (unless you count music videos) he did a pretty good job. As a matter of fact, not to beat a dead horse I think he acted better than Adam Sandler ever has !!! :spin:

I usually don't like rap movies cause they suck. 8 Mile really was a well made movie though.

I bought this movie when it first came out and I was impressed by how much not only me but my wife enjoyed it. Neither of us are fans of rap, although there are some select songs over the years I have liked. Anyway I let a friend borrow this movie and he let me borrow Pulp Fiction as I had not het viewed it at home and next thing you know it became a swap. I kind wish I had 8 mile still because it's about time for a second watch.

I remember watching the extras and being impressed with some of the locals competing against M&M. I did buy the sound track for the theme song.

In time for Halloween -- Scary Movie 3
                      by Burke Strickland
Scary Movie 3 (SM3) is solidly in the bad-taste-is funny, sight-gags-galore spoof-a-rama tradition of Airplane! (the same director did both). Unlike Scary Movie 2, which was a tired re-hash of the "original" Scary Movie, (which I enjoyed), SM3 treads new ground, parodying not just horror flicks...

Movie versions of books (or vice versa)
                      by Chris D
This may be a good discussion. The topic is popular books that have been made into movies. By and large, my personal opinion is that movie renditions of good books fall far short for a few reasons. First, I think due to the media of print, books allow for a much more thorough immersion of the reader...

                      America's Sweethearts- whose movie?
                      by JonMarsh
I saw this movie this weekend. I've seen a few different reviews by people, some not all that hot (B-, C+) discussing this as "the new Julia Roberts Movie". And then they complain about how small a role Julia Roberts had in this movie.

Reality reset time, folks. Julia Roberts...

                      by goe2112
                      Hello all,
Just wanted to know if there is a good website that helps people find out the title of an old movie without knowing the title.

Just in case your curious, I'm searching for an older B sci-fi movie. All I remember about this movie is the ending, it takes place on a space...
