There's a new re-release of the western film "Silverado". It's remastered in DTS. I thought it was quite good. Has anyone else seen it? How did you like it?

Daaaaaang, I missed the DTS track on this re-release! 8O Neither Widescreen Review or The Digital Bits have anything out on their websites about this disc. How's the picture quality, too?.

Tex I have this and to be honest, the Superbit wasn't all that much better than the original dvd. But the DTS track was a nice bonus. Disc 1 has the movie plus either a DD 5.1 or DTS soundtrack, plus a commentary track. Superbits usually don't have any extras. Now maybe that's the reason the Superbit pic didn't look as good as I had expected. But then, not all Superbit transfers are created equal, are they.

It's a relief to hear that about the PQ George. My copy is one of the 1.85:1 versions they initially released in error (a collectable?) and I didn't want to think that it was already "out to pasture".

Tex, funny you mentioned the 1:85 version because that's why I bought the new SE so I could get the 2:40 aspect ratio. But I will keep the 1:85 " collectible", HEH,HEH. :B- Bottom

Yeah, had the sides been cropped to get the 1.85:1, I'd have thrown that thing away so fast! But, since it was actually the top and bottom that were cropped to get the 2.35:1, I just figure we got more of the movie to watch..

I found this at our local Sam's Club last night for $12.99! Yes, it's the 2-disc Superbit. I couldn't help myself. :B.

by David MeekJust thought I'd warn you. The Superbit DVD of Das Boot has only the German soundtrack in DTS. The English version is DD 5.1. Personally, on this movie I don't care. I've seen the English version enough that I watch it in German with subtitles now. Can't wait to here this in DTS - wow!

Francis Ford Coppola is a seriously "different" man. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, the image and sound of this DVD is flat outstanding vs. the original DVD. Excellent shadow detail - it'd...-
