Just Meet the Fockers for me.

I'm sure there will be alot of interest in House of the Flying Daggers but the transfer is being picked apart by people whom have it already. They say it sucks.

It's about time - some good releases are available this week, including some of the new UMD (Universal Media Disc)-formatted titles. If you aren't sure what these are, they are the Playstation Portable compatible discs. Based on mini-disc (remember them?) technology, they are 60mm in diameter and hold about 1.8 GBytes of data.

Some of the interesting titles for me are:

      Ambush Bay - WWII classic
      Beach Red - WWII classic
      Beachhead - WWII classic
Captain Blood - Errol Flynn's first big film
Four Feathers, The - 1939 version
In China They Eat Dogs - never heard of it, but it sounds interesting
      Meet The Fockers
Primer - another I've never heard of, but it too sounds interesting
Sea Hawk, The - another Errol Flynn title
      .

They Died With Their Boots On:
I believe this is another Errol Flynn film. He plays Custer, if it's the one I think it is.

Oops, missed that one George. Yes, that's the one about your namesake, General George Custer. One bit of interesting trivia on this one is that Crazy Horse is played by Anthony Quinn. Anthony Quinn? An American Indian with a Greek accent? :B

Yeah, Tex, I remember that. Gee, I haven't seen this since it was in the theater. I will probably buy the set with all three Flynn films.

Yeah, Pat, I love 'em. But I am long in the tooth and many films in the theater when I was a kid were black and white. So watching them today brings back many good memories.

I'm guessing if the movies of today were black and white they just wouldnt be the same.

It used to take some real acting to make a movie interesting and now the special effects grab a persons interest.
I dont know....just thinking out loud...

Three Violent people? lol..look in the morning paper....bet theres more than three.

One thing I like about B&W films is that I'm more aware of the textures of everything in the scene, whereas with color I tend to focus more on that.

                          Coolest mount ever!
                          by markienyc
So I had an issue in my New York City apartment - the only place I could conceivably mount my 60" flat screen was above a decorative fireplace. I was worried about the neck strain I'd have staring up at the tv day after day. After doing some research and reading reviews, I came across the 'down...

                          by Shane Martin
Being that I saw and bought Vol 1, I bought Vol 2 blind as I didn't have time to see it. Anyone else pick this up?

I figured it was a no brainer since I loved Vol 1 and couldn't make the trek to the theater for Vol 2.

Quentin Tarantino has accompanied each of his movies with great soundtracks. Mixing music from the 60's and 70's with music of today. Kill Bill Vol. 1 is his best yet.
Most the hype on this soundtrack revolves around track one. Nancy Sinatra doing her version of Sonny Bono's "Bang Bang (My...

I was waiting for a Rotel multi-format player to come out. In the meantime, I thought I’d do some research. After spending months of listening to many available Muti-format players and stand alone DVD-A / SACD players, my wife and I came to the following conclusions:

                          by Chris D
I thought I'd post this to help out those who have taken the plunge into HD-DVD and/or Blu-Ray, to understand the BASICS of the new HD audio formats that it includes.

The question is, when I pop in a new HD-DVD or Blu-Ray, when I get to the main menu, I've got a choice of several different...
