Anyone else get Kill Bill Vol 2?

Being that I saw and bought Vol 1, I bought Vol 2 blind as I didn't have time to see it. Anyone else pick this up?

I figured it was a no brainer since I loved Vol 1 and couldn't make the trek to the theater for Vol 2.

    Shane,

I watched it last night, it is even better that the first (more thought-provoking), if you get through the first few minutes. I will definitely watch it again. It is a keeper :T . Two thumbs up and a circle :T :T .

    Regards,

    Azeke

No, I haven't picked this one up yet. That doesn't mean I won't, though.

I plan to buy it this weekend.
How is the sound quality in DTS?
K.B. Volume I was absolutely reference quality - in my system, its one of my top 5 when I want to show-off. The glass shattering in the first fight scene against Vivica Fox and of course the cartoon rival anything out there. Anything come close to that in Vol. II?

I've already watched my copy of Kill Bill #1 twice and am really looking forward to buying Volume 2. I, too, read somewhere that it was even better than Volume 1. Man, it must be something, then. I'll pick it up Saturday.

IMO, action sequences are little bit weaker in Volume 2 than in the Volume 1. That's not to say that Volume 2 lacks action. The part where Uma fights the "Crazy 88s" in Volume 1 was a classic. Although you won't find that kind of action in Volume 2, it is still a very good movie. If you loved Volume 1 (who wouln't?), defenitely get Volume 2 as well. You won't regret it.

Got my copy, haven't watched it, yet. Maybe this weekend, more likely I'll save it for Labor Day weekend.

Okay, I watched Vol. II this weekend. I liked it more than Volume I, but there is a lot more subwoofer and intense sonics in Volume I. HOWEVER, there is one scene in Vol. II that easily is in my top 5 HT soundtrack moments; in fact it has to be one of the most intense surround effect evers and that's the coffin scene, specifically when the [person] is being buried alive - I won't say any more; just turn up the volume.

Vol.2 was better than Vol 1 esp that last move when Bill got the "5 points palm exploding heart move" I just had an idea that it was gonna be used on him since he talked about it with her, when she was in training.

Yep, Vol 2 was even better. More character development through dialogue. It could actually stand on its own even if you didn't see Vol 1.

What did you guys think about that surround sound in that "bury alive" scene?

That scene made me feel more claustraphobic than anything I can recall seeing on the screen.

I'm having mixed thoughts between which I like better, 1 or 2. Each has its strong points. For me, in 1, I loved things like the anime and Uma having the sword made for her...a lot of the mythological build up. In two, her learning experience with Master Pai Mei is a classic. The expository information that reveals the more complete story is great, but, after the trailer scenes, the film lacked some momentum for me.

I also wanted to applaud Michael Madsen's acting performance. When the guy is on, he's one of the best.

Yes, Keith, Madsen is one of Hollywood's most underrated actors. He needs a better agent IMHO. As for Vol 2, I agree that it was slower, but I felt that character development was better served with the greater amount of dialogue as compared to Vol 1. But, like you say, they both have their strong points. Glad I have 'em both.

Any substance to the rumours of a combined Kill Bill Vol.1 and 2, presented as a single feature film?

I thought the 2nd movie was the better of the two - I heard a lot of complaints upon exiting the theatre, but IMHO the first was almost cartoonish.
